LiveWire Liverpool Health Trainers provide support and motivation to adults across Liverpool. The service offers one to one support, guidance and motivation to individuals who want to make a change to their lifestyle.

The service can also signpost individuals to other services, groups and organisations in the local area.

We all have issues in our lives which may affect our health in some way. You may want to get fitter, control your weight, have a healthier diet, reduce your alcohol consumption or quit smoking. You may want to reduce your stress levels or just feel better about yourself. If you want to become healthier but don’t know where to start a Health Trainer will be able to help you work out exactly what you want and how to go about it.

Health Trainers are friendly, understanding and supportive. They will help and encourage you to achieve and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Health Trainers will provide guidance, support and motivation with:

  • Healthy Eating
  • Losing Weight
  • Physical Activity
  • Stopping Smoking
  • Substances
  • Reducing Alcohol Consumption
  • Reducing Stress and Anxiety

Health Trainers have undergone extensive training and keep up to date with all the latest health information.

Health Trainers will help you set achievable goals, develop your Health plan, identify and overcome barriers and provide ongoing encouragement and support. Health Trainers can spend up to an hour with you at each meeting and you can meet with your health trainer weekly or fortnightly. The team also offers telephone support if you find it difficult to get out to one of our venues across the region.

Our service is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Role of Health Trainers

Health Trainers provide 1-1 support and motivation to adults across Liverpool who wish to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Your health trainer will guide and support you with:

– giving up smoking
– cutting down on alcohol
– reducing stress and anxiety

Who are the Health Trainers

Health trainers are people just like you. They have been recruited from the community, bringing with them a range of skills, experience and local knowledge.

Health trainers come from a variety of backgrounds. They have the knowledge and experience of living and working in the community and they understand how difficult it can be to make healthy choices sometimes.

Heath trainers have undergone extensive training and they keep up to date with all the latest health information. They will be out and about at public events to give out information and support you.
Health trainers will help you set achievable goals, develop your personal plan, identify and overcome barriers and provide ongoing encouragement and support. They know the local area and can put you in touch with local services, community groups, support and self-help groups.

Health trainers can spend up to an hour with you at each meeting. You can meet with them weekly or fortnightly for up to six to eight sessions over a twelve week period if you need to. They also provide telephone support if you find it difficult to get out.

How do I get a Health Trainer

You will be contacted by a health trainer to arrange a meeting. You and your health trainer will have a one-to-one confidential meeting to agree healthy changes to your lifestyle.

You will have ongoing individual support, encouragement and guidance throughout the process.
